2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale
Presentation
This Canadian-market 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is one of approximately 1,300 examples produced worldwide, and it was imported to the US in 2026. Powered by a 3.6-liter V8 paired with a six-speed F1 sequential transaxle and a limited-slip differential, the car is finished in Rosso Scuderia over beige leather. Equipment includes tri-color racing stripes, ceramic-composite brakes, 19″ Challenge-style alloy wheels, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a Challenge-style rear grille, carbon-fiber sport seats, a CD stereo, and air conditioning. Acquired in 2026 by the selling dealer, this 360 Challenge Stradale shows 22k miles with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The 360 Challenge Stradale was the track-focused version of the 360 Modena and featured weight-saving measures including composite bumpers, a Lexan rear window with carbon-fiber supports, and carbon-fiber mirror housings. This example is finished in Rosso Scuderia with tri-color racing stripes and features xenon headlights, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a Challenge-style rear grille, and quad exhaust outlets exiting through the rear fascia.
The 19″ Challenge-style alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin tires. The suspension of the Challenge Stradale was specified with lower and stiffer titanium coil springs as well as a thicker rear anti-roll bar than those on the standard 360. Stopping power comes from red-finished Ferrari-branded calipers over cross-drilled and ventilated ceramic-composite rotors at each corner. Two tires were replaced in 2026.
The cockpit features carbon-fiber sport seats upholstered in beige leather along with matching fabric on the dashboard. Weight-saving trim utilized in the Challenge Stradale model included carbon-fiber door panels, a carbon-fiber console, and reduced sound deadening. Amenities include a CD stereo, air conditioning, and aluminum pedals.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an 8,500-rpm redline as well as a digital fuel level readout and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, and coolant temperature. Paddle shifters for the F1 gearbox are mounted behind the steering wheel. The digital odometer indicates 22k miles.
The mid-mounted 3.6-liter Tipo F131 V8 features a flat-plane crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication, dual overhead camshafts, and five valves per cylinder. The Challenge Stradale was factory rated at 425 horsepower, an increase over the standard 360, achieved using lighter and higher-compression pistons, a revised intake manifold, and ported intake and exhaust runners. The timing belts, tensioner bearings, and drive belts were replaced in 2024.

@elateapex Exactly. I bought an F1 360 Spider here in June. It had extensive records but no mention of a new heat exchanger. I got that fixed promptly.

@MikeKai I love what you said about "worth a drive or a plane ticket." I searched for 2 years for the right Ferrari. Made a couple trips up the East Coast, couple plane tickets, hotel rooms, etc. to put my eyes and hands on each car. For me . . . it made all the difference. I think each buyer has their own threshold on what they're willing to spend on a car without seeing it; how much trust they're willing to put in the seller.

Records are only as good as your ability to read between the lines. They’re imperative to understand the upcoming cost to sort a car and to gauge an intelligent value.

@mikekai Still disagree that full records are worthless. They are very valuable.
To take your own example, if you had known how to interpret the complete records of your car before you bought it, you would have seen that the heat exchanger was never replaced or deleted. A common issue and that is what leaked coolant into your gearbox and is what caused the trans to be trashed, you would have seen the fuel pumps had never been replaced in 20 years--a very common issue as well, Ferrari updated that part because the plastic pump housing cracks and leaks fuel.
You would have seen the clutch had never been replaced and they wear out quickly with the F1 system so you would know it needed replacing.
etc, etc. I could go on.
So it seems to me like your complete Ferrari records from the day it was bought certainly would tell the right person a lot of information about your car before you bought it. You and the people who did your PPIs apparantly just didn't know how to properly utilize them. Now I'm not trying to insult you for not knowing, I didn't know all of that either about the 360 until I bought one in a similar condition and had to learn it all doing years of work on it myself.
I'm also not saying the inverse--that cars without records are automatically going to have problems. But trying to say that records are worthless is just not true. Records are just another data point and you want to use all the data you have available to the best of your ability.

@elateapex My Challenge Stradale had full Ferrari records from the day it was bought until I bought it in 2022. COMPLETE records the entire time between only 2 VERY VERY well-known and loved Ferrari dealerships. I also had a PPI performed at a Ferrari dealership before I bought it. They found nothing wrong with the car. After getting the car and driving it once I realized it had issues. I slowly learned that basically everything I read online that could be wrong with these cars was wrong with it. Ball joints were shot and noisy, transmission was completed trashed inside from water and had to be rebuilt, grounds were bad and caused all sorts of electrical issues, alternator was bad, fuel pumps were leaking, speakers were blown, drivers side power window didn't work randomly, starter button didn't work randomly, F1 system had all sorts of issues, clutch had little life left and was slipping, tons of mismatched and unoriginal screws and bolts, many screws and bolt heads completely stripped, transmission mount was completely shot, motor mounts were completely shot, heat exchanger was original, but not too bad, but probably still needed to be replaced, so I did (They do have them). The list goes on and on. So for me, Ferrari records mean basically nothing. That's why I say that, and I wouldn't write off a car if it's got a few records missing. Go check the car out in person and drive it. If the guy really already owns a CS, he will be able to inspect it himself and tell a lot. Personally, I think this car looks GREAT and is a super clean spec. Well worth a drive or plane ticket!

Own a 360 and have to disagree there. Service records are still very important.
Without them even if it drives and looks perfect you will have no idea of the age of things like the timing belt, the gearbox heat exchanger (which the CS doesn't have so no worries there), the age of the fluids, the age of wear items like the throttle bodies and MAFs, etc.

@prfj99 The car is stock - The service records posted are all we were able to obtain. That does not necessarily mean they represent every service performed over the car’s life, but we cannot document work beyond those records.
The Ferrari dealer we acquired the car from was unable to generate a replacement window sticker. However, photo 157 in the gallery shows the car’s factory specification and options.

Please include original sticker. I think I speak for all interested customers. We need guarantee that there were no mods and all is stock. Also, very “bad” service history for a >20yo and very delicate car. Are you sure that was all that was ever done?

Is the factory stripe original to the car? If so, the Challenge Stradale came from the factory with a vinyl or mylar decal (sticker) applied to the car and then covered with a factory clear coat, not painted on.
Oct 19, 2026 · 03:10
@malex 10 owners because these are just flipper cars now. No one’s really bothering to drive or enjoy them - hold, flip, rinse and repeat.
Oct 19, 2026 · 03:03
10 owners? Not a red flag by any means or a criticism, just interesting. I know someone who had one ~10 yrs ago. In his view, just because it's a "Stradale" didn't mean that it's was as pleasantly streetable as a Modena. The 360 CS is much more of a track day car that happens to be technically street legal. That said, I never personally drove his car. So I've no firsthand experience. But my friend's experience might account for some of the short ownership periods. That and rapidly rising values triggering owners to sell
