Presentation

This 2011 Mercedes-Benz SL550 was purchased in 2015 by the seller, who has since added approximately 34k of the 61k indicated miles. The car is finished in Steel Grey Metallic over a Red and Black Nappa leather interior, and it is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The car was optioned with the Premium, Full Leather Seating, and Sport Wheel packages, highlights of which include 19″ AMG five-spoke alloy wheels, heated and active-ventilated multi-contour seats with massage functionality, AIRSCARF neck-level heating, and Keyless Go. The car was further specified with a panoramic glass roof for the power-folding hardtop, Parktronic parking sensors, illuminated door sills, and Distronic adaptive cruise control. Service since 2022 has included replacing the power steering pump, both front struts, and the air conditioning compressor hose, as well as rebuilding the convertible top. This R230 is now offered with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a Texas title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Steel Grey Metallic (755) and features a power-folding convertible hardtop, a panoramic glass roof, bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, Parktronic parking sensors, dark tinted headlamps and tail lamps, dual exhaust outlets, and fender air vents. The convertible top was rebuilt with replacement cylinders and tint was added to the front windows in April 2023, and the seller notes the front latch cylinder was replaced and hydraulic fluid was added in preparation for the sale. Blemishes on the body, including scraping on the front valance, are shown in the gallery below, and the seller notes paint touch-up on the passenger door, a dent in the hood, and a crack in the front emblem.

The 19″ AMG five-spoke alloy wheels were reportedly mounted Otani KC2000 tires in May 2026. The car features Active Body Control (ABC) suspension as well as an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Automatic Slip Control (ASR). The Sport Wheel package added silver-finished front brake calipers and perforated rear brake discs. The power steering and ABC pump was replaced in September 2022 and the front struts were replaced in February 2023.

The heated, ventilated, and massaging multi-contour seats are upholstered in Red Nappa leather, and Black Nappa leather covers the center console armrest and top portions of the dashboard and door panels. Black Ash wood trim accents the cabin, and additional amenities include Airscarf neck-level warming, dual-zone automatic climate control, Distronic adaptive cruise control, Keyless Go, illuminated door sills, a Harman Kardon sound system, and COMAND with navigation. The AC compressor hose was replaced in June 2025 according to the seller, and there is wear to the driver’s seat bolsters.

The wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 61k miles, approximately 34k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.5-liter M273 V8 was factory rated at 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed in August 2026.

@CSEPEATTILA A minor correction to your explanation about Mercedes-Benz platform nomenclature: Rennwagen (German for race car) is where the "R" in the model names like SLR (Sport Leicht Rennsport / Sport Light Racing) or historic race cars like the W196R comes from. However, when it comes to standard production platform codes like R107 and R230, the 'R' strictly means Roadster. I love SLs (have owned many, and currently own an '09 SL550 similar to the one on offer here), but they are not Race Cars! GLWTA

Hi Seller, does the car need anything addressed immediately?, or is it "turnkey" ready?

Good Morning, and thank you to everyone who has bid and commented so far! The reserve is met, and this SL550 will be going home to a new owner at the end of the auction. I’ll be here to answer any remaining questions right up to the final minutes. Good luck to everyone bidding!

A LOT of car for the money. We have an identical (even the same colors!) 2011 and I am impressed every time I drive her...incredibly solid feel. Pure Mercedes excellence. Whoever wins will enjoy this one.

CAUTION-If you are the lucky buyer, be prepared to fall in love with this beautiful example.
I own a 2007 SL550 with 25k miles, Designo black and Designo tan interior and know these cars very well.
Mercedes upgraded several of the troublesome components for the 2007 model year, including the ABC system. This one has been serviced and repaired at a cost of thousands of dollars and shouldn’t give the new owner any problems.
This owner seems meticulously about his service and this would be the car I would want.
The drivers side seat bolster can be repaired for probably $700, or the new owner can find the same color interior dye and just re-dye this area in about 30 minutes.
These R230’s need to be maintained and this one has been. I don’t know the owner, but I know these cars and this would be the one I’d buy if I was in the market!!

Great presentation by seller... and a highly optioned SL with nice color combo.
Should do well...

@csepeattila
So true, case in point the little Merc Sportcoupe in 2008 took on the panel appearance of the new W204 sedan and S204 wagons. Whereas as it remained a CL203 underneath and so retained its chassis designation, but in sales brochures was called a a CLC. Irrespective, generally great cars. However this SL in question is my ultimate reasonably priced stock 2 seater luxury roadster.

Awesome SL, my pick of the platform.
Even more bulletproof that the M113.
SL55 has name, but nothing else over this.
As for SL63, the M273 is a better fit for daily!

Here’s a quick video showing a small ding on the hood with a reflection board so you can see it clearly. The paint isn’t cracked or chipped, but I wanted to make sure it was fully disclosed for everyone bidding. Let me know if you have any questions!

@microeye AC works great! Photo #146 appears to be the invoice for the front struts. You might look at that invoice and see if your question is answered. (I had to right click it and open it in a new window to really zoom in on it to read it since I don't have the paperwork in front of me at the moment)
Oct 26, 2026 · 18:44
@DallasSL550 - thanks for the great presentation. Does the A/C now hold pressure and blow cold? I’m surprised it needed front struts as it has the upgraded ABC-2 system. Was it leaking fluid or possibly a contamination issue? Just curious. Thanks.

Beautiful car....no need for a 55 AMG when you have this. Thanks for the great maintenance history. It's great to see, although unfortunate for you, that so much has been done. $3400 per year average in Maint. That's a SL for you.
