This 2019 McLaren Senna is #232 of 500 editions produced to commemorate racing driver Ayrton Senna’s success with the McLaren Formula 1 team. The Senna was designed under the direction of McLaren Automotive’s Rob Melville and built on the carmaker’s MonoCage III carbon-fiber monocoque platform, featuring a McLaren Formula 1–inspired roof scoop, double-element rear diffuser, and an electronically adjustable rear wing that also functions as an airbrake. This Senna is reported to be just one of two examples specified worldwide in MSO Atlantic Blue metallic, which is complemented by McLaren Orange and exposed matte carbon-fiber accents. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter 789HP V8 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle. The twin-hinge dihedral doors open to a black Alcantara interior housing carbon-fiber seats with orange six-point harnesses, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, dual-zone climate control, and a folding driver display. The seller purchased this Canadian-market example from the original owner through McLaren Vancouver, and it was subsequently brought to the US in 2026 via a registered importer. This Senna is distinguished by an MSO Atlantic Blue metallic finish with McLaren Orange front aero trim, rear spoiler graphics, and “P15-232” quarter panel graphics. It is further equipped with twin-hinge dihedral doors with Gorilla Glass inserts, front and side air intakes, rear air louvers, and parking sensors. Clear XPEL PROTEX paint protection film covers the full exterior.
The 19″ front and 20″ rear staggered-width center-lock wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires measuring 245/35 front and 315/30 rear. RaceActive Chassis Control II was standard as were double-wishbone independent suspension, adjustable damping and roll modes, multiple stability-control modes, Variable Drift Control, Brake Steer, and launch control. Stopping power is provided by orange-painted six- and four-piston aluminum monobloc calipers over 390mm carbon-ceramic rotors front and rear.
The cockpit features carbon-fiber bucket seats trimmed in black Alcantara upholstery, and exposed matte carbon-fiber trim extends throughout. Additional equipment includes a glass upper rear bulkhead, orange six-point harnesses, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and a portrait-oriented infotainment system with Bluetooth, satellite radio connectivity, and navigation.
The carbon-fiber- and Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel sits ahead of carbon-fiber paddle shifters as well as a configurable digital display that folds flat to expose a simplified digital tachometer, gear indicator, and speedometer. The digital odometer indicates 1,600 miles, approximately 80 of which were added under current ownership. As part of the importation process, the “BRAKE” light on the console was enabled by McLaren Vancouver.
A plaque listing the car as #232 of 500 is affixed to the driver-side door jamb.

@lovecarsyakama - Almost forgot!!! Please find attached NITSA Bond Release letter as promised. This car was imported proper. It is fully compliant, is register and plated in Montana and can be registered in all 50-states.

Now explain, if you care to, how a bidder on such an incredible vehicle as this can bid say $2 million dollars and then when a further bid is placed decide the vehicle isn’t worthy of a $2,002,000 bid. The self restraint in such a case is truly amazing.

Folks are not playing games with their bids when they end them in a certain number. I do it all the time and it is not a game. I use it to identify my bids without having to count on the notice that I am the high bidder or that I have been outbid. When I bid, say 250,007, I know it is my bid because it ends in 007. Since this is a Canadian-market car that was imported to the U.S., please confirm you have copies of the U.S. Customs clearance documents (Form 7501 and HS-7) and the official NHTSA Bond Release letter matching the RI sticker on the car. To see the best series of pics that best capture the metallic, check out the sequence of pictures from #38 to #44. It starts at the rear passenger quarter panel and comes down the door to the passenger head lamp with a final shot on the passenger corner of the front fender. Really captures the incredible MSO Atlantic Blue metallic as it shifts colors in the reflection of the sun.

@1porsche_geek - Following up on the Canada CarFax mentioned previously, please see the CA CarFax from earlier in the year that show the greater detail of services performed by the original owner. The US CarFax simply lacks the detail of cars originated from outside the US.

@Storm33 @SerottaD - Well, the critics have spoken and we agreed - and we took action. Most of this morning was spent with a professional photographer providing Senna 232 the quality shots it deserves in direct sunlight. We will do a drop in the next 24-48 hours!
Captured in full sunlight and in Race mode, these images and video demonstrate how special and rare this MSO Atlantic Blue Senna is and why it should not only be at the top of the current market, but also at the top of any serious collectors list.
The images captured are simply stunning. Even the photographer was astounded by the way it looked in person and how it reflected the light. He worked diligently to capture as much of the MSO Atlantic Blue in its different tones. Just as the name suggests, this is no ordinary or common blue, but a plurality of blues seen in the base and metallic depending on the light it is reflecting. We have also shot new videos and in the process we have put an additional 12 miles on the car (photo of updated odometer will also be provided and posted).
We hope this gives all those interested the satisfaction of seeing Senna 232 MSO Atlantic Blue its full glory. Thanks again for all of the feedback!

@Celtic17 - It is not a Canadian warranty, it is a McLaren Ultimate North America Extended Warranty. It is good in Canada and all 50-states and transferable to a private party - it is not transferable to a non-McLaren dealer. A copy with the policy number assigned to the VIN is in the extended photos. You will note it also includes Roadside Assistance. I know, this just keeps getting better...

@1porsche_geek - Thanks for the question. First, 232 has had the full series of campaigns with the original owner. Also, due to production issues and constraints, Senna’s were rolled out with campaigns to the dealers. The dealers were shipped the corrective action parts and installed as part of the dealer prep. You will find this in the history of most Senna’s. If for example, the has a problem with a actuator (a strut to you and me) they would ship the parts post release from the factory to be dealer installed. This avoided Sennas piling up at the end of the production line. Second, problems encountered with the storage of any Ultimate Series McLaren. Ultimate Series have a wickedly cool suspension and stability system. It is a high pressure hydraulically controlled system that controls and balances individual wheel loads, roll and heave. You understand what this delivers when you drive one. This consists of hydraulically connected and controlled Actuators (previously mentioned) and Accumulators that dampen the hydraulic pressure applied at each wheel, and in the Senna, in the heave and roll system. Some of the best Ultimate series cars we have found that were stored in Track Mode and left sitting for months may cause leaks in the Actuators - this becomes a replacement part on an annual service check. This was not fully understood and what seemed like harmless passive storage triggered multiple Actuator replacements for many of the original Senna owners. This car was no exception. Because these parts are not always in stock, this usually requires a follow-up visit. Add that to the Annual Services not accounting for any gaps and you get to 17. Today, the best practice is to not store any Ultimate Series McLaren in Track Mode for an extended period of time. Additionally, all ultimate series cars should be occasionally exercised. Let one stand for a year and you may develop a problem from lack of use as with many cars. Most importantly, maintain an Extended Warranty. These cars represent a multi-million dollar asset. Everyone purchases insurance to cover loss, we only purchase Ultimate Series McLarens that are certifiable and qualify for an Ultimate Extended Warranty from McLaren. McLaren NA has tightened down on the recertification of cars that have been tracked or not properly maintained - we will not buy one unless we can place a McLaren Warranty on it. We highly recommend that any buyer of one of our cars extend it further. Last note for anyone interested is the issue of main seal leaks on McLarens related to storage. If you are going to store the car for an extended period or as a collector to maintain low miles for value, the car should never be started without bring water and oil up to full operating temp. Every time you cold start and engine unburnt hydrocarbons (gas) blow by the cold pistons and mixes with the gas. If you do this repeatedly the oil will accumulate a high concentration of unburnt hydrocarbons and then eat away at all of your engine seals while in storage. In the case of the common block used in McLarens, some of this oil (now solvent) pools against the main seal and eats it away. We have seen new condition Unicorns that have a drip of oil at the main seal upon inspection that have been caused by cold starts and stops with no miles added. It is very common to see stored mint McLarens that need the main seal replaced. In this car, it was done twice. All common issues that simply were not fully understood by McLaren or the original owners. This car has had annual service from the original with the exception of on gap during covid - go figure. We purchased the car last year with Vancouver McLaren providing that year's servicing. Because the car was certifiable, we re-established the Ultimate Series Warranty that can be extended by the new owner. I hope this answers your question and provides additional information on best practices for ownership and storage of this car. Please let me know if you have any other questions. @ryshab7743 - Expand the +52 at the bottom of the picture list, scroll down to the door stickers. The original Canadian sticker affixed by the manufacture is always black, the RI Federalization compliance sticker is white. All of the RI stickers we have ever seen are white. FYI, the RI was Hurley Way LLC. You can look them up in the NITSA Registered Importer database. They all have to be registered with the feds. As stated previously, Buyer will get full set of import paperwork along with a paper copy of the complete service history.

@SerottaD - you nailed it. This car warrants painstaking photography on a clear, sunny day with no clouds, trees, or anything else around it. That said, @seller is top notch and the car pretty much sells itself. I’m just wishing I could literally drool over the quality of the photos as art that matches the automobile. There’s not doubt this one will sell well regardless - no luck required.

@SerottaD - I know that red. I love that red. Great insight into shooting, thanks, and I totally agree with the sunlight play on many of the MSO colors. We do a lot of work with MSO and I agree, their paint is tops. We have several carbon tinted cars as well that we have sourced globally - some of the best carbon work I have seen (that includes Pagani). Through their ups and downs, McLaren has produced some fine art at times to go along with the performance. When it all comes together in some cars it just leaves people silent, they just stare. Sounds you have one and you have the passion. Awesome!

@FrankenBidder I have a Volcano Red McLaren, which morphs from RED to black-ish red across the undulations of the body. People swoon when they look at it (most recently at British Motorcars/Monterey Car Week.)
Along with other McLaren MSO colors, it's going on impossible to photograph accurately. What I've done is set the camera on a tripod and fiddle with the in camera settings, take a test shot, and then visually compare the car and the shot... or on-the-spot download to an iPad and compare. It's really a cut-and-try A-B comparison process made more difficult looking at an iPad on a sunny day. I think these cars have to be shot in blue sky sunlight (since they come alive in sunlight) and then the in-camera fiddling be done as above with the ethical objective of making the shot on screen (camera or iPad) match what my eye saw a moment ago taking the photo. (There is also an "emotional" checkpoint to the process... do I feel looking at the shot what I feel looking at the car?) To Photoshop or otherwise adjust later is a fool's errand, thinking you can remember what it looked like. (shooting in a studio can show the detail, but misses the in-person dazzling I experience... plus the color temperatures become a variable). I think McLaren MSO paints cars better than Ferrari or Lamborghini or Porsche (don't see enough of the botiques to judge... except for blue CF on a Pagani Huayra which can cause atrial fibrillation). When you see a bunch of Ferraris lined up, what does one think? "There's a bunch of Ferraris." When you see 75 McLarens at a customer/dealer event, I think, "WOW!!! LOOK AT THOSE COLORS!!!"

@Kennelly101 - Yes, it is legal in all 50 states. This is a North American market car. McLaren did not make a separate car for the US and Canada market, they just disabled the “BRAKE” light on the dash and slapped a Canada compliance sticker on it instead of a US Federalization sticker. When imported through a Registered Importer, the RI validates compliance with NITSA and they are issued a letter of release. The RI then placed an additional Federalization compliance sticker and then 232 was registered in Montana where we store our cars. We bring some of our cars down for exercise during the summer and when they are going to placed on the market. It is smog compliant and can be registered in all 50 states as well as exported back into Canada. Thank for the question. The original Canada and the RI added US compliance stickers can be seen in the picture gallery.

You can jump to 17:20 for the start of the interview with the original owner, minute 21 for the model…. The original owner had 232 on consignment with McLaren Vancouver when I found it. While we were closing in on a purchase I found the video, thought it was MSO produced, no beans, he had it made and did not want to part with it - and I would have done the same. He created a very special car and wanted to keep it to remember his journey. Really classy guy with great taste. I feel lucky to have purchased his car. Any owner of this car will feel the same, just something special here. Thanks again for such an insightful question.

The senna is one of 6 different specials (The Elva, The Speedtail, The Sabre, senna based, the X1, one off custom, and new MCL 6GT) All of them home runs, but the senna is the most memorable, either its design, the namesake, or its power. Either way, it’s an amazing car, Best of luck!

Thanks, and a very rare color. It is the only Atlantic Blue Senna known to exist in the 1-500 series in North America. It was inspired by Senna 000 specified for then CEO of McLaren, Mike Flewitt - a right hand drive car for the UK market. It is rumored that there may be a second example produced in the 500 series that is in a collection in Germany, but it has never been captured in the wild and MSO cannot confirm it exists. That said, this is most likely the only one we will ever come across here in North America. Thanks again for the comment...
