Presentation

This Rest-of-World 1993 Porsche 911 is one of a reported 754 Turbo 3.6 examples produced for the model year and was imported to the US in 2002. It was purchased by the current owner in 2018 and subsequently underwent a six-figure restoration by Porsche Classic Center in Atlanta, Georgia, intended to replicate the car’s factory specifications and condition by rebuilding the turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six and restoring the Cashmere Beige leather interior. Finished in Midnight Blue Metallic, the car handles shifting via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, and equipment includes 18″ Speedline wheels, a power sunroof, air conditioning, and a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) system. This 964 is offered on dealer consignment by a BaT Local Partner with a Porsche Production Specifications sheet, the owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a Georgia title.

The 964 Turbo featured widened bodywork when compared to the contemporary 911 and was fitted with aerodynamic side mirrors and a fixed rear spoiler. The 3.6-powered variant was introduced in January 1993, and this example is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic. Features include a power sunroof, a rear window wiper, and fog lights. Paint protection film has been applied to the hood and front bumper cover. The sunroof was repaired, and the front bumper cover and taillights were replaced in 2018.

The multi-piece 18″ Speedline wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The Turbo features uprated brakes compared to the standard 964, including larger red-finished calipers and cross-drilled rotors at each corner. A Front strut tower brace is fitted.

The Cashmere Beige leather seats were retrimmed in 2018, at which time the headliner, door panels, carpeting, and rear parcel shelf were replaced. Amenities include air conditioning, power-adjustable front seats, and a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) system.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a replacement 180-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 32k miles, approximately 600 of which were added during current ownership.

The fact that a 964 3.6 Turbo is an extraordinary Porsche goes without saying. This car is much more than that given the nature of the restoration work done on it. Yes - it's noted that the work exceeded 6 figures. But the exceptional part is where the work was done and who did the work. For those that may not know about Jack Swint (Master Technician at the Porsche Classic Factory Restoration Center in Atlanta) - do some research on his background. How many Porsche technicians have a background like Jack? I would guess none in the US. His 50+ years of skill and knowledge with Porsche vehicles guided the work done on this car and that is a key differentiator. How many Porsche Classic Restoration Centers exist outside of Stuttgart Germany? Just one. The one in Atlanta where the work was done on this 964 Turbo. So to me, the talk about fonts on an inside hood sticker seems a bit obtuse and askew of the true significance of this car. I commend the owner of this Turbo who pursued the restoration - seeking to bring this car up to the very highest standard. And to those that did the work -
WELL DONE!

The RoW 964 Turbo 3.6 is a holy grail car—one of only 754 built for the model year. It represents the literal end of an era: the absolute last of the big single-turbo, wide-body, rear-wheel-drive 911s. This isn't just a collector car; it's a monument to the rawest era of air-cooled performance. 🔥

@Bison2020
Paint meter readings suggest that the majority of the vehicle retains its original factory paint. We have confirmed minor paint touch-ups on two panels—the passenger-side rear quarter panel and the driver’s door—to address scratches. This paintwork was completed under prior ownership. Additionally, readings on the hood and front end are influenced by the presence of paint protection film (PPF). There is no evidence of prior accident damage, and no accidents have been reported
Oct 29, 2026 · 19:34
Also @seller confirming that this car is original paint on everything other than the front bumper? I don't believe I saw any paint outside of that on the PC invoices, but just wanted to make sure otherwise. Thank you!

Oct 29, 2026 · 13:52
@TheVaultAuto
Thanks for the response. I am in no way saying the car has an issue whatsoever. I was merely addressing questions about why certain stock items were on the hood sticker that show up on none of the other 964 3.6 turbos from the era that I have seen personally or on auctions. Maybe a new sticker was created during its recommissioning? Also not saying the hood sticker has any false info, just more than usual and less in the case of the paint code and engine info, in addition to the period font used. If you can find me another one that is missing info like that, please let me know. I want to stress I am in no way questioning the authenticity of the car at all, or its value.
Wish you the best with the auction. I am sure it will do quite well.

@BillG993
Thank you for your observations. It’s important that we distinguish speculation from documented facts.
The hood sticker is a factory Porsche sticker, certified by Porsche Cars North America (PCNA).
Furthermore, the vehicle underwent an extensive restoration performed at the Porsche factory PCNA
The recommissioning represents a substantial investment in the vehicle, with the work carried out directly by Porsche rather than an independent restoration facility.
Given Porsche’s direct involvement, the extensive scope of the recommissioning, and PCNA’s certification of the factory sticker, there is no reasonable basis to suggest that Porsche would have overlooked or knowingly retained an incorrect factory identification sticker.
Any concerns regarding the vehicle’s authenticity should be supported by verifiable evidence rather than speculation

@965
Part of the problem you are pointing to on the hood sticker is due to what I believe is a reproduction hood sticker. The code for the country of destination is missing and I have never seen the 220 (LSD) noted on a 364 turbo 3.6 hood sticker as well as the others you noted. Notice the font is not exactly right and the full engine type is missing. There should be a "- 61P" to follow M6450. The dash on the transmission code is centered in the space before "20" vs immediately following G5052 as they always are. The "YA" interior code is positioned a bit further to the right than usual and also displays a font that is not Porsche factory (along with many subtle differences in the numbers).
Although I have seen the 406 code on a few 93 MY's, it certainly isn't prevalent on cars with the std spokes, so not sure if that would have been on the original or not. Nor have I ever seen the 5 speed transmission code on a sticker as you pointed out. The space between the transmission line and the paint/interior code line is also wider than normal (you can see that on the bold titles on the left hand side of the sticker. The paint code is also missing the "L" before "37W", and the font of "37W" is also not std. Lastly, the 981 code is not usually on a hood sticker where the master interior code (in this case YA) is defined by a full leather interior, but does show up on the build sheets. Although on that point, I have seen it a few times on a 993 Carrera C2S and C4S with the full leather code and have no idea why as it mostly is not present in those situations. Not sure why the inconsistency.
To me, and if I am correct that it is a reproduction, it just appears as if they were guessing what items from the build sheet or invoice should be on the hood sticker when they had it produced. Possibly the dealer in Venezuela never attached the original to the hood and some owner at some point wanted one to be on the car. Who knows.
Regarding your question on the 15721 Line Instruction code for a Z-code, I have seen it once before and I believe it was for leather on the instrument carrier. It could not be confirmed on that particular car because at some point a PO installed the carbon fiber inserts over the instrument panel. But all the separate leather adds on the CoA were accounted for with other X-codes. During the 964 production, I believe that option fell under a Z-code but changed to an Exclusive Dept option of XNG for the 993 model. So it is possible that is it. Hard to tell from a picture on this car whether the instrument carrier panel is leather.
As far as the tinted windshield is concerned, option 567 was not std on most RoW models from what I understand. I believe there may be some countries where they were, but not most from what I have seen.
All the best

@seller Interesting that the factory data base doesn't pull up these codes but the car is clearly equipped as shown. Most of those options were standard on the turbo 3.6. The 3.6T had the 18" wheels so why they needed to list code 406 and 5 speed trans is unique. Although it does confirm leather dash and door cards code 981. These C99 cars always intrigue me how the factory handled other countries requirements. Thanks again. Always something new to. learn.

@BillG993 I see your point. I have had many issues in the past with CofA's. In some cases I had to submit the monroney sticker to PCNA after multiple attempts to get them to adjust the CofA to reflect how the car was equipped. I wasn't sure if this was a typo or not since there is no option sticker under the hood. These Venezuelan cars have always been a bit of an anomaly. US impact bumpers with RoW side repeaters. I think it is the only market I have seen this on before. What I found odd is even the factory data base shows relatively no info about this car. Other than F8 paint code and YA which is full leather but no mention of colors like I am accustomed to seeing. Only option codes are for 567 green tinted windshield which I was under the impression was standard on the turbo model, 650 for the sunroof and 058 for impact bumpers. I still have no idea what Z code 15721 is. A mystery for the next owner to decipher.

@965
The PPS docs have been known to be woefully inaccurate in many cases and why Porsche dropped them as well as the CoA's for the now Porsche Classic Technical Certificate process. As you point out, this car has the full leather interior and it was that way from factory as it has the YA interior code for full leather Cashmere Beige/Black. The error is on the PPS description but has the correct interior code. It is funny because if you find a car with a PPS and the std partial leather interior, it shows the correct code of LC but also with the same description - Cashmere Beige/Black Partial Leather (which in that case it is correct). Amazing that these inconsistencies (errors) were so prevalent on the certificates.
All the best.

@jwarnick250, Thank you for the question. We have located additional documentation that helps clarify the vehicle's mileage history.
According to Carfax, the Porsche was imported into the United States on September 23, 2002, through Miami, Florida. On January 30, 2003, the U.S. Department of Transportation confirmed that the vehicle met U.S. highway safety specifications, and the importation bond was released.
We also have a copy of the previous owner's title application dated February 10, 2003, just 11 days after the bond was released. This document records the odometer reading at that time as 18,590 miles.
Additionally, the vehicle is accompanied by service records dating back to 2003, providing further documentation of its history following importation.
The vehicle subsequently underwent an extensive, approximately two-year complete recommission performed by Porsche Classic Factory Restoration at Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) in Atlanta, completed in February 2020. The work was undertaken with the objective of returning the vehicle to its original factory standards of condition, functionality, and performance.
The title application establishes a recorded mileage reading shortly after federalization, and the accompanying service records provide additional historical context. Together with the extensive Porsche Classic documentation, these records offer a substantial history of the vehicle.
All supporting documentation, including the historical service records, importation-related paperwork, and Porsche Classic recommission records, will accompany the vehicle to its new owner.
We hope this additional information is helpful, and thank you again for your interest.

@seller The car is listed as C99 so it was probably delivered directly to Venezuela. It also shows that it came with the US impact bumpers. So they would have been stock. The car has an interesting Z code 15721 which I am not familiar with. Can we see the spare tire area? The carpet should easily lift and possibly the vin markings on the tub under the gas tank. Thanks.

Seems like a lot of work needed for such few miles. @seller. The CofA states partial leather but the car shows full leather dash and other bits. I don't see this on the invoice was this done by prior ownership or is the CofA incorrect? I'm assuming the rear bumper was repalced with a US version back then as well? Do you know where the car was imported from back in 2002? Can we see pictures of the frunk without the carpet in place?

Welcome to our auction of this exceptional 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6! We are pleased to represent this very special 964 Turbo on behalf of its owner. What makes this example particularly noteworthy is its extensive restoration performed by Porsche Classic at the Porsche factory. The restoration took approximately two years and was completed in February 2020. Since completion, the car has been driven approximately 600 miles. It is accompanied by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, books, and supporting documentation. The 964 Turbo 3.6 is already one of the most desirable air-cooled 911 models, and the factory restoration history makes this an especially interesting example. We would like to thank everyone who has participated in the auction thus far, including those who have placed bids, asked questions, and contributed to the discussion. We appreciate the interest and enthusiasm surrounding this special Porsche. We encourage everyone to review the extensive photo gallery and documentation. We'll be monitoring the auction closely and are happy to answer questions or provide additional information throughout the week. Thank you again for your interest, and we look forward to a great auction!

@SlowNRusty And when the hammer drops on this magnificent example that will probably be money well spent.

Very interesting that they chose to make the car US DoT compliant by using the US spec rear bumper and front Bumperettes. Midnight is one of those colors that always pleases.
